The
Federal Military Special Interest Group attempts
to unite a specific group of nurses that work
for the Federal Government, either in a civilian
capacity and those who serve in the Armed
Forces. These include Military Hospitals,
Department of Veteran Affairs, and Bureau
of Indian Affairs, just to name a few. While
much of our practice is the same as those
of our peers in the private and educational
sector, there are issues that are specific
to our institutions. We are directly impacted
by Congress, periods of war, The Inspector
General, and like all others, JCAHO. There
are times when we even operate with no real
budget (a continuing resolution in Congress).
Any
one is welcome to attend any of the special
interest groups. There is always someone who
has experienced something similar and can
offer assistance, sometimes solutions, and
sometimes just someone to listen and care.

Annual Congress and Educational Symposium
